Thatcherballs No 3 – Lord Saatchi

Chairman of the Centre for Policy Studies, Lord Saatchi has been quoted in the Independent on Line as saying:

“Tap anyone on the shoulder anywhere in the world and ask what Mrs Thatcher ‘believed in’ and they will tell you.”

During a BBC interview he also said “she was of course condemned for” her “ice cold brutishness”

Lord Saatchi is 66 and was born in Baghdad.

He is credited with a number of highly successful advertising campaigns, most notably the “Labour isn’t working” posters on behalf of the Conservative Party for the 1979 British general election and advertisements for the cigarette brand Silk Cut.

Next week: Nick Clegg
“I am not the kingmaker, David Cameron is not the kingmaker, Gordon Brown is not the kingmaker. There are 45m people who have still got to choose and I am not going to short-circuit that. It is simply not for any politician to do that.”
